My firstborn turned 6 today, and in 6 years i have truly managed to turn a child totally against the camera… i mean there are days when he cooperates but mostly he just flinches and squints (even after the sun’s gone down *_*) and I swear he may think the camera needs to be surgically removed from mummy’s hands and face… but today on his birthday at the last of the good golden light- yeah, you know what i’m talking about- today he obliged me and smiled and even wore a hat of his own choosing and without being asked he let me capture him… briefly.
Then he asked if he could take a pic… see? there’s always a catch! Sometimes it’s marshmallows today he wanted this… reluctantly…. thinking i have no make up, i’m definitely not dressed like i ask my clients to dress and let’s not even talk about the hair!…very reluctantly I place my third and more replaceable baby around his neck and show him what to do, as he captures us I couldn’t help but think how cute he looked in his little fedora and a Canon around his neck ^_^
Looking at these images I now wonder what he was thinking… and i’m glad i didn’t rush inside to make myself more presentable or even tell him to wait till i lose a few more kg’s, these pics will be treasured 🙂
